Tourney update

Softball families!

The girls worked real hard tonight!

The tourney this weekend may cost us $20 per player, but we do not need it up front (necessarily).  The league is covering us at an extremely discounted rate.  The regular rate is $325 but we are only paying $150.  So just get me the $$$ when you can.  Hopefully we sell all our Pizza Cards and the extras so we can all get the $$$$ back!

Here is a link to a mapquest map to the fields we will be playing in.  My wife’s cell # is 643-2462 in case you need to contact us.  We will be going down Friday night along with some of the families.

I will get you our game schedule as soon as I get it.  Plan on an 8:30 AM game.

Please check with me at practice to see if I have your medical releases up to date.

Thanks!

See you at practice Wed.

2nd game

We did much better at out 2nd game. The girls hit better, ran better, and had a great spirit. Grace earned the game ball for fielding some great outs and always smiling. She inspires the rest of the team.

Thanks to all the parents who have been helping out!

See you monday at practice!

First Game

Our first game went well. We did lose 1:11, so we definitely have work to do, but I think the girls had fun.

Karissa Parker got the game ball for blasting a stand up double and pitching a great inning! Good Job.

A couple things we learned:

Dress Warm! Your girl may wear a solid colored shirt under her jersey (black is preferred) with out any patches or labels to distract batters.

We all need to work on batting between practices. Get some wiffle balls and soft toss 25-30 to your girl, several times a day.

Put your names in all your hats and equipment.

Thanks to everyone for your help!!!

Lots o' stuff!

All the girls received tonight thier picture packets, fundraiser packets, and directions for our first game on Friday.

Please note the following:

Friday, game at 5:15. Please have the girls their as close to 4:30 as you can.

Saturday, Pictures at 11:30, Gaddis Park behind field one.

Saturday, Opening Ceremonies at Noon, Field one

Saturday, Game at 1:00

Please sell all ten Papa Murphey cards. You may collect cash, but one check from each family will need to be turned in to Melinda when done. Once done, we will issue a few more. Once everyone sells the extra, our entry fee to the Cinco De Mayo tournament will be paid for by the league!

If you have any questions regarding fundraiser or pictures, email Melinda at the email in the column to the right.

The girls all agreed to wear their team shirts to school on game days.

My camera is broken and I will need pictures of our first games. Please email them to me.

New Team

Hey Guys!

Welcome to the '08 Softball Season! We are going to get started right away, so start getting your arms warmed up by playing catch at home with mom and dad. It is important for your daughter's growth to work at home in between practices and during any "down time".

We are going to work hard this year on improving skills and strength. We have some returning players and some girls who are brand new to the game, so we have a good balance of players.

Attendance at practice is mandatory and playing time will be reflected by attendance and dedication. If your daughter has a preferred position, she needs to earn it. Working hard and good attitude are very important to me in determining who will play and where.

On our team "Everyone Helps". So please make sure you as a parent, have a role on the team.

I am available to chat anytime and have an open door policy. Please let me know where I can improve, but be ready to help and have solutions.
